Happy Vet Nurse day to our Special Nurses
Having worked in the industry for over 20 years, I have seen many vet nurses in my time. In most practices, you typically have one standout nurse. This nurse is the biggest advocate for patient care, has the most knowledge and is the first to put up their hand to help out. That nurse is like that because they truly love and see the value in the amazing work that they do.
When I started managing Oakleigh Central Vet, it struck me that we don’t have that one nurse. We currently have FIVE of them! All of our nurses are absolutely unique individuals but they adore their patients and have the highest level of respect towards their owners. So, knowing the above, here are some extra points about each of them.
Bahar
Longest-standing vet nurse in this practice
Historian of the clinic
Constantly seeking better ways to do things
Warmest personality to people and pets
Fun fact - is never seen without a scrunchie in her hair
Nicole
The most “zen” nurse
Gets everything done without complaint
Will cuddle & kiss pets all day if possible
Passionate about patient care
Fun fact - has impeccable taste, but will also eat dubious chicken
Ved
LOVES surgery
A great problem solver
Quiet, empathetic and compassionate
Very easy going and happy to help out where needed
Fun fact - if it’s black, she loves it
Helen
Does not stop moving - ever
The most organised human to ever walk this earth
Remembers everything and so learns extremely quickly
Super reliable and quick thinking
Fun fact - will pick up the phone faster than you can blink
Sharon
Always happy to help anyone out
Deep concern for all patients and their owners
Loves to have fun in her workplace and always brings good vibes
Constantly asking questions to improve her own knowledge base
Fun fact - has bold dance moves
Just like flowers, separately they are wondrous on their own, but put together, they make a bouquet of the highest caliber. We are so grateful to have them call Oakleigh Central Vet their workplace and continue to raise the bar for General Practice nurses everywhere.
We appreciate you on Vet Nurse day and every day in between!
